I am Ari H. Scott, an experienced concert cellist, event musician, and composer for classical music and video games. I hold a Bachelor’s of String Performance and Pedagogy from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a Master’s of Music from DePaul University.

I have worked with clients such as the Chicago Childrens Museum and Chicago Center for Food Equity in Medicine as a solo event cellist, and have years of experience performing at weddings both as a string quartet and a solo musician. I am always happy to take on new clients!

In the concert stage, I regularly perform with different orchestras, including several concerts with the Illinois Symphony in the past season, have served as Assistant Principal with the DePaul Symphony Orchestra and Principal Cellist for DePaul’s Opera Theatre in its past cycle, where I have completed my Masters in Music. In the past summer, I was also an orchestra member and Orchestra Manager for Chautauqua Institution.

I regularly perform in string quartets, quintets, and other ensembles, and have recently held a solo recital featuring the works of Stravinsky, Francaix, and Britten this May at the Holtschneider Performance Center. I am also a soundtrack composer and studio musician for video games. Most recently, I have written the soundtrack to Corrupted Heaven, a Tactical RPG rogue-like game, as well as many chiptune tracks, all on my YouTube channel.

In addition to soundtracks, I also have years of experience writing classical music for the stage. In the summer of 2021, I have written a solo violin piece, "Fire Opal", for Nief-Norf's CPI Institute, and have premiered a violin commission for musician Chloe Johnson this spring, as well as an original cello duo. I also have many new projects in the works!
